Death Of Former Resident
Mrs. Helen Turney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John DeReus, was born May 8, 1904 in Jasper County near Mingo.
She passed way October 18, 1976 at St. Joe Hospital in Phoeniz, Arizona, after five weeks illness following heart surgery.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Arlene Griffiths of Glendale, Arizona and Helen G. Castell of Newton; and one son Tommy of Phoenix; a sister, Mrs. Forbes of Phoenix and a brother Lloyd DeReus of Mingo, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She lived most of her life in Jasper County and 21 years in Arizona.
Funeral services were held November 1, 1976 at Northwest Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Michael Moxness officiating. Entombment was at Greenwood Mausoleum.
