Gladys Ruth Marshall

Monroe---Gladys Ruth Marshall, 76, of Rt. 1, Monroe, along time resident of Monroe, died Monday evening, April 17, at Clearview Manor in Prairie City.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday at the Monroe First Baptist Church.

The Rev. John Adams, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Our Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.

Friends may call after noon Wednesday at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. Family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials to the First Baptist Church may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are a son, Harlan of Monroe, a daughter, Mary (Mrs. John) Stravers of Monroe, daughter-in-law, Darlene Marshall of Monroe; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Kent of Weber City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, in 1978, parents, a son, Larry, and a brother.

Mrs. Marshall was a member of the Monroe First Baptist Church.

A homemaker, Mrs. Marshall was born March 10, 1913 in Sioux City, the daughter of John and Amanda Kingery Clevenger.

She was a 1930 graduate of Monroe Community High School.

She was married to Charles Marshall Oct. 23, 1931.
