Marshalltown---Funeral services for Lowell Munger, 66, of 4 Cherry St., Marshalltown, were held today, April 17, at the Pursal Davis Funeral Home in Marshalltown.

Dr. Worthie Usher conducted services. Burial and military services were held at Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown.

Memorial contributions to the cancer unit at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines will be accepted.

He died Thursday at Mercy.

Survivors are his wife, Dena, two sons, Tim of Jacksonville, ND and Tom of Houston, Texas, two grandsons; a brother Marvin of Newton; and a sister Lois Grosvenor of Newton.

Mr. Munger was employed by Texas Co. in Des Moines and Sioux City prior to moving to Marshalltown in 1958 to become a bulk agent for Continental Oil Co. He later sold the business to become a stock and commodity broker.

Munger, who was graduated with a degree in business administration from American Institute of Business in Des Moines, was a member of the Army infantry during World War II, serving in Europe where he was awarded two bronze stars.

A captain in the Army Reserve, he retired in 1983.

Mr. Munger was a member of the First United Methodist Church, American Legion, New York Stock Exchange and Chicago Board of Trade, the Reserve Officers association, and was a member and past exalted ruler of the Elks Club.

The son of D.E. and Lulu Fener Munger, he was born Jan. 2, 1923 in Newton and was a graduated from Newton Community High School in 1940.

He was married to Burdina Cole Jan. 29, 1949 in Des Moines.
