Susie Buitenwerf Dies Thursday; Rites Saturday
Sully – Mrs. Albert (Susie) Buitenwerf, 80, of Sully, a longtime Sully resident, died Thursday afternoon at the New Sharon Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 o’clock Saturday at the First Reformed Church in Sully.
The Rev. Wayne Tripp, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Sully Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to the Christian Opportunity Center in Pella will be accepted.
Garden Chapel in Pella is handling arrangements.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Marion (Trava) Dieleman of New Sharon and Mrs. Raymond (Grace E.) Bandstra of Otley; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Howard Buitenwerf of Pella; a brother, Clarence Monsma of Sully; and two sisters, Mrs. Gerrit (Ena) Vander Wilt of Lynnville and Mrs. Ray (Jennie) Ludwick of Sully.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1944.
The daughter of Klaus and Grace Grasma Monsma, she was born April 17, 1896 near Reasnor.
She was married Feb. 26, 1919.
