Freddie Hevlin Dies Saturday; Services Today
Monroe – Funeral services for Freddie Edmund Hevlin, 89, a longtime Monroe area farmer, were held today at the Monroe Garden Chapel.
The Rev. Oren L. Reger, pastor of the Prairie City United Methodist Church, conducted services. Burial was in the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
He died Saturday at the Heritage Manor in Newton.
Survivors are his brother, William Vern of Knoxville, a sister, Mrs. Rachel Robison of Baxter; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Clara Mae, July 8, 1924; his second wife, Iva, Jan. 6, 1971; three brothers; and five sisters.
Mr. Hevlin was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge.
The son of George and Rebecca Ann Roush Hevlin, he was born Sept. 19, 1886 in Marion County.
He was married to Clara Mae Sutcliffe Dec. 31, 1915 and to Iva Halsted Mar. 29, 1949.
