‘Buck’ Trease Dies Wednesday; Rites Saturday
Clarence “Buck” Trease, 63, of 1029 E. 10th S. N., a resident of Newton for 35 years, died Wednesday evening at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.
The Rev. Paul Akin, pastor of the St. Luke United Methodist church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home after 8 a.m. Friday.
Survivors are his wife, Claudena; four sons, Donald, Ronald, Larry and Jerry, all of Newton; eight grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; two brothers, Earl Trease of Grinnell and Francis Trease of Newton; a half-sister, Mrs. James (Marjorie) Brown of Grinnell; and a half-brother, Gerald Trease of Omaha, Neb.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Marvin.
Mr. Trease, a member of the Maytag 25 Year Club, was a former member of the Izaak Walton League.
Mr. Trease was a retired inspection department employe at the Maytag Co.
The son of Henry C. and Elsie May Johnson Trease, he was born Oct. 21, 1912 at Lynnville.
He was married to Claudena McDaniel Mar. 16, 1935 at Unionville, Mo.
