Bryan Guthrie, 12, Dies Thursday; Rites Saturday
Bryan Lee Guthrie, 12, of 404 E. 11th St. S., died Thursday evening at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral home.
The Rev. Jerry Moseley of the New Hope Baptist Tabernacle will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at Toland-Wallace Funeral Home after 5 p.m. today.
Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Martha Guthrie of Newton; his father, Robert Guthrie of Omaha, Neb.; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. John (Marguerite) McNew of Newton; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. George (Ina) Guthrie of Vichy, Mo.; a brother, Rob Guthrie of Newton; a sister, Michele Guthrie of Newton; and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, John McNew of Newton and George Guthrie of Vichy, Mo.
The youth, a sixth grade student at Lincoln Elementary School, was a member of the New Hope Baptist Tabernacle.
The son of Robert and Martha McNew Guthrie, he was born Aug. 15, 1964 in Newton.
