Zora Simpson Dies Monday
Mrs. Guy J. (Zora) Simpson, 79, of 202 E. 4th St. S., a resident of Newton since 1917, died Monday morning at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.
The Rev. Richard Bentzinger, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home after noon Tuesday.
Survivors are her husband; a daughter, Mozelle Simpson at home, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.
Mrs. Simpson and her daughter had owned and operated Mozelle’s Drapery Shop in Newton and Mrs. Simpson had been an office employe at the Maytag Hotel for several years.
The daughter of John and Sarah Ogle Brown, she was born Oct. 3, 1896 in Greenfield.
She was married April 5, 1917 at Colfax.
