Polly Cooper, Former Kellogg Resident, Dies
Kellogg – Mrs. Joseph (Polly) Cooper, 93, of Grinnell, a former resident of Kellogg, died Sunday at the Grinnell General Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Grinnell Assembly of God Church.
The Rev. Sam Reaves, pastor of the church, and the Rev. Hugh Shiveley, pastor of the Grinnell First Baptist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.
Survivors are a son, Guy of Grinnell; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Herwehr of Knoxville, Mrs. Flonnie Bell of Grinnell and Mrs. Paul (Marie) Middleton of Clearwater, Fla.; 24 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Cullen Burnett and William Burnett, both of Kingston, Mo.; and two sisters, Mrs. Sally Sloan of Gower, Mo., and Mrs. Rosa Gardner of Kingston, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Cooper was a member of the Grinnell Assembly of God church.
The daughter of Sandusky and Jimima Fairchild Burnett, she was born Mar. 11, 1883 at Mount Pisgah, Ky.
She was married May 12, 1899 in Chanute, Tenn.
