Guerdon Chedester, Former County Resident, Dies
Kellogg – Guerdon E. Chedester, 72, of Grinnell, a resident of the Kellogg community for 26 years and also a former resident of the Lynnville and Newburg communities, died Wednesday at the Grinnell General Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the James-Schalinske Funeral Home in Grinnell. Burial will be in the Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.
Survivors are his wife, Grace; three sons, Jack of Malcom, Max of Grinnell and Glenn of Laurel; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Brainard Chedester of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and two sisters.
Mr. Chedester was a member of the Farm Bureau.
The son of Willie E. and Allie Kingdon Chedester, he was born Dec. 30, 1903 near Newburg.
He was married to Grace Binegar Jan. 30, 1924 at Grinnell.
