Harold F. Stoner Dies Tuesday; Services Friday
Prairie City – Harold Franklin Stoner, 76, a lifelong resident of the Prairie City community, died Tuesday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Vera) Schilder of Grinnell.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Christian Church in Prairie City.
The Rev. Phil Coe, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Waveland Cemetery at Prairie City.
Memorial contributions to the Prairie City Christian Church will be accepted.
Also surviving are two other daughters, Mrs. Harry (Irene) Wilson of Prairie City and Mrs. Marvin (Evelyn) McClellan of Colfax; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Henderson of Des Moines and Mrs. Nell Wilson of Prairie City; and a brother, John Stoner of Des Moines.
He was preceded in death by his wife.
Mr. Stoner was a member of the Prairie City Christian Church, Modern Woodman, Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Lions club.
The son of James Patrick and Mary Elizabeth Shorten Stoner, he was born Aug. 3, 1891 at Prairie City.
He was married to Blanche Mabel Patterson Dec. 23, 1914 at Prairie City.
