Nettie Engbers, Former Jasper Resident, Dies
Prairie City – Mrs. Albert J. (Nettie) Engbers, 74, of 806 Columbus St., Pella, a resident of the Prairie City community from 1914 to 1930, died Sunday at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Calvary Christian Reformed Church in Pella.
The Rev. Martin Gritters, retired, of Pella, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Pella.
Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society will be accepted.
Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella is handling arrangements.
Survivors are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Janice) Roorda of Lynnville; two grandchildren; two brothers, Gerrit Vander Wilt of Pella and Anthony Vander Wilt of Oskaloosa; and three sisters, Mrs. Gerrit (Wilhelmina) DeGraaf of Prairie City, Mrs. Peter W. (Jennie) Hugen of Pella and Mrs. Ralph (Margaret) Bolt of Des Moines.
The daughter of William and Jennie Van Zee Vander Wilt, she was born Sept. 6, 1901 northwest of Pella.
She was married Feb. 18, 1931 at Pella.
