Area Youth Dies; Services Pending
Douglas Hevlin, 6, of Prairie City, died Monday at Blank Hospital in Des Moines.
Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City is handling arrangements which have not been completed.

Douglas Hevlin Rites Thursday At Prairie City
Prairie City – Funeral services for Douglas Lee Hevlin, 6, who died Monday at blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Prairie City Christian Church.
The Rev. Phil Coe, pastor of the church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Mitchellville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to the Blank Hospital may be left at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City.
Survivors are his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hevlin of St. Charles; his step-father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Nelson of Prairie City; a sister, Christine Hevlin and step-brothers and sisters, Sheryl Waddle, Steven Waddle, and Stuart Waddle, Carl Nelson, Gary Nelson, Evelyn Nelson, Jeffry Nelson and Robert Nelson.
Also surviving are his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold De Moss of Mitchellville and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hevlin Sr. of Knoxville; and his great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Hevlin of Knoxville, Mr. and Mrs. Don Dunbar of Knoxville, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Curry of Carlisle and Mr. and Mrs. Will De Moss of Prairie City.
The son of Lloyd and Dorothy De Moss Hevlin, he was born Nov. 29, 1969 in Des Moines and attended kindergarten at the Prairie City elementary School.
