Marvin Gibson Dies Friday; Services Today
Colfax-Baxter – Funeral services for Marvin Gibson, 72, a resident of Colfax since 1970 and longtime Baxter resident were held today at the Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home in Baxter.
The Rev. T. a. Thompson, pastor of the United Church of Christ Congregational in Baxter, conducted services. Burial was in the Restland Cemetery in Baxter.
He died Friday at his home in Colfax.
Survivors are a sister, Mrs. Hazel Pyle of Marshalltown; a brother, Mel Gibson of Colfax; and a niece, Mrs. Darlene Meeks of Colfax.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1972, parents and a brother.
Mr. Gibson was employed by Jasper county for more than 30 years.
The son of Albert and Ella Vansice Gibson, he was born April 9, 1903 at Baxter and attended Jasper County schools.
He was married to Cora Stratton Dec. 22, 1929 in Jasper County.
