John Schwarz Dies Friday; Rites Tuesday
John C. Schwarz, 66, of Rt. 1, Newton, a lifelong resident of Jasper County, died Friday afternoon at the University Hospitals in Iowa City.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.
The Rev. Morris Hay, pastor of the Hickory Grove Church near Kellogg, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to the Heart Fund will be accepted.
Survivors are his wife, Mabel; two sons, Clifford of Baxter and Frank of Newton; a daughter, Mrs. Howard (Shirley) Heck of Newton; six grandchildren; and a brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.
The son of Frank and Augusta Koppin Schwarz, he was born July 30, 1907 in Kellogg.
He was married to Mabel Hammer Oct. 17, 1932 in Newton.
