Berneice Alloway Dies Saturday; Services Tuesday
Mrs. Alvin (Berneice) Alloway, 64, of 927 ½ W. 8th St. N., a resident of Newton since 1958, died Saturday evening at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.
The Rev. James Conger, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will conduct services.
Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home after 1 p.m. today.
Survivors are a brother, Carol Purscell of Newton; a sister, Mrs. William (Opal) Watts of Newton; and a number of relatives and friends, including Arthur Harkert of Newton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother; husband in 1956; two sons, Leroy and Rex; five brothers; and a half-sister.
The daughter of Leroy Jackson and Jennie Lenore White Purscell, she was born Jan. 1, 1912 in Winterset and attended Winterset schools.
She was married in 1930 in Marshalltown.
