Ronald Allen Dies Friday; Services Today
Funeral services for Ronald Raydean Allen, 22, of Rt. 4, Newton, a longtime resident of Newton, were held today at the First Christian Church in Newton.
The Rev. Donald Cramblit, pastor of the Christian Church Disciples of Christ of coon Rapids, conducted services. Burial was in Newton Union Cemetery.
Johnson-Reese Funeral Chapel handled arrangements.
Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society will be accepted.
Survivors are a sister, Kathy Allen of Rt. 4, Newton; his fiancé, Joan Cashman of Newton; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. K. Dean Allen of Rt. 4, Newton; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Dora Allen of Winterset; and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Levica Mastin of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather and paternal grandfather.
Mr. Allen was a member of the Christian Church, Disciples of Christ of Kellogg and the Jasper County Roundup Saddle Club.
Mr. Allen had been employed in the dryer department of Maytag Co. since 1973.
The son of K. Dean and Patricia Mastin Allen, he was born June 7, 1954 in Mason City, was a 1972 graduate of Newton Community High School and had attended Lincoln Tech in Des Moines.
He died Friday at the Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.
