Mary Adkins, Former Laurel Resident, Dies
Laurel – Funeral services for Mrs. George B. (Mary G.) Adkins, 82, of 930 State St., Grinnell, were held Monday at the United Methodist Church in Grinnell.
The Rev. Fred Pierce, pastor of the Methodist Church in Brooklyn, conducted services.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Harriet) Wright of Kasson, Minn.; a son, Delmar M. Adkins of Brooklyn; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Mrs. Ida Lukehart, Mrs. Daisy Smith and Ruby McIlrath, all of Laurel, and Mrs. Charlotte Hauser of Bayard.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1960.
She was born Mar. 27, 1894 near Laurel.
She died recently at the Grinnell General Hospital.
