Lena Vander Veer Dies Wednesday; Rites Saturday
Mrs. Conrad (Lena) Vander Veer, 88, of Pella, a former Jasper County area resident, died Wednesday at the Pella community Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home at Pella.
The Rev. G. LaVerne Hill of the Open Bible Church at Pella will conduct services. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery near Pella.
Survivors are a son, Jacob of Pella; a granddaughter; two great-granddaughters; a great-great-grandchild; and seven brothers and sisters, Mrs. Jacob (Cornelia) Goemaat of Pella, Mrs. G. (Maggie) De Hamer of Riverside, Ill., Conrad Leydens of Newton, Mrs. Pete (Dena) Heerema of Rock Island, Ill., and Dick Leydens, Neal Leydens and Reuben Leydens, all of Pella.
The daughter of Rut and Klaasje Van Drongelen Leydens, she was born Nov. 20, 1887 in The Netherlands and attended schools there.
She was married Aug. 22, 1906 in Knoxville.
