Mrs. Van Hemert, Former Jasper Resident, Dies
Prairie City – Mrs. Mars P. (Katherine) Van Hemert, 81, of Fair Haven in Pella, a former resident of the Prairie City community, died Wednesday morning at the Pella Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella.
The Rev. William C. De Jong, pastor of the Pella Trinity Reformed Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Pella.
Memorial contributions to the Trinity Reformed Church will be accepted.
Survivors are two sons, Purl of Danville and James L. of Arlington, Tex., a daughter, Mrs. Warren G. (Mary Jane) Van Sittert of Pella; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joe Muilenberg of Newton and Connie Muilenberg of Mesa, Ariz.; and a sister, Mrs. Cornie (Marie) Spain of Grand Rapids, Mich.
The daughter of James and Minnie Muilenberg, she was born April 1, 1894 near Otley.
She was married Nov. 26, 1913 at Otley.
