Edward E. Warner Dies Thursday; Rites Saturday
Edward E. Warner, 55, of 711 E. 12th St. Pl. N., a resident of Newton for 24 years, died Thursday afternoon at the Skiff Memorial hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.
The Rev. B. L. Payne, pastor of the Immanuel Baptist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Toland-Wallace Funeral home after 1 p.m. today.
Survivors are his wife, Leorine, two daughters, Linda and Jeanne at home; his father, Merle Warner of Mingo; five brothers, Frank of Baxter, Commodore of Marshalltown, Richard and Robert, both of Mingo, and Ronald of Ankeny; and five sisters, Mrs. Fred (Nadine) Fricke of Baxter, Mrs. Marvin (Donna) Ver Dught of New London and Mrs. Robert (Catherine) Osborn, Mrs. Thomas (Patricia) Horsman and Mrs. Thomas (Margie) Loupee, all of Newton.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Dean, in 1966, his mother in 1972 and a brother, Gerald, in 1956.
Mr. Warner, a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church, is an employe of the Maytag Co.
The son of Merle and Mary Miller Warner, he was born Aug. 24, 1921 in Baxter and attended Jasper County schools.
He was married to Leorine Rouse July 8, 1952 in Marshalltown.
