Mayebelle Marshall Dies on Thursday
Monroe-Tools Chapel – Mrs. James Robert (Mayebelle) Marshall, 83, of 315 N. Monroe St., a resident of Monroe and former resident of Tools Chapel, died Thursday at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Monroe.
The Rev. Jerry Wolcott, pastor of the church, will conduct services.
Monroe Garden Chapel is handling arrangements.
Survivors are her husband; two sons, Millard Blaine Marshall of Niceville, Fla., and Maurice Keith Marshall of Lexington, Ky.; four daughters, Mrs. Rosamond Thompson of Fort Bragg, Calif., Mrs. Svend (Emma Lucille) Anderson of Newton; Mrs. Leo (Cecile Irene) Kinion of Monroe and Mrs. Hubert (Violet Louise) Schrader of Monroe; 25 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a brother, Harry Shaw of Prairie City; and two sisters, Emily Valentine of Des Moines and Millicent Valentine of Monroe.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jams Franklin, two brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Marshall was a member of the United Methodist Church in Monroe and a former member of the Tools Chapel Methodist Church.
The daughter of Gilbert and Emma Steele Shaw, she was born Aug. 11, 1892 in Monroe.
She was married Feb. 27, 1911 at Monroe.
