‘Dutch’ Farrow Dies Today; Rites Wednesday
William J. “Dutch” Farrow, 70, of 606 E. 9th St. s., a resident of Newton since 1929, died this morning at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.
The Rev. William C. Hamilton, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home after 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorial contributions to the Jasper County Senior Citizens or the Assembly of God Church will be accepted.
Survivors are his wife, Faye; a daughter, Mrs. Dick (Marilyn) Beall of Newton; six grandchildren; and a brother, Floyd Farrow of Oakland, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents and six sisters.
Mr. Farrow, a Maytag Co. employe for more than 34 years, was a member of the UAW, Local 997, Jasper County Senior Citizens and the Maytag 25-year Club.
The son of Edward W. and Cora Mae Smith Farrow, he was born April 24, 1906 in White City.
He was married to Faye Pherigo Sept. 27, 1920 at Marshalltown.
