Phebe Ricks, 65, Former Newton Resident, Dies
Mrs. William (Phebe) Ricks, 65, of 1309 Country Club Drive, Pleasant Hill, Mo., a former longtime resident of Newton, died Thursday at Kansas City, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the Stanley Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill.
Survivors are a brother, Willard Burroughs of Newton; and three sisters, Mrs. George (Hazel) Albee of Newton, Mrs. Leslie (Martha) Hale of El Monte, Calif., and Mrs. Claude (Carolyn) Adams of Los Angeles, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and husband.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Burroughs, she was born Mar. 6, 1911 in Selby, S.D., and attended Newton schools.
She was married to William Ricks in 1959 in Oklahoma.
Mrs. Ricks was employed at the United Telephone Service in Newton from her graduation until retiring in 1957.
