Irma Callison Services Are Set for Friday
Funeral services for Mrs. Otto (Irma) Callison, 88, of 518 W. 2nd St. S., a resident of Newton since 1910, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.
The Rev. Marvin Potter, pastor of the United Presbyterian Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.
Survivors are her husband and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter in infancy, a brother, a half-brother and four half-sisters.
Mrs. Callison was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Newton Woman’s Club and Busy Bee Club.
Mrs. Callison was in the restaurant business in Newton for many years and helped establish the Newton Animal Rescue League.
The daughter of Wesley and Sarah Beven Spain, she was born Aug. 30, 1887 in Indianola.
She was married to Otto Callison May 1, 1909 in Metz.
She died Wednesday morning at the Jasper County Care Facility.
