Leslie F. Young Dies on Tuesday; Services Friday
Leslie F. Young, 69, of 427 N. 8th Ave. E., a resident of Newton since 1941, died Tuesday morning at the University Hospitals in Iowa City.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.
The Rev. Richard Bentzinger, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Thursday.
Survivors are two sons, James L. Young and Thomas L. Young, both of Newton; two brothers, Leonard D. Young of Lake View and Ray A. Young of Newton; and two sisters, Mrs. Verla Pooler of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Ruby Gunion of Churdan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Bertha Belle in September, 1975.
Mr. Young was a member of the First United Methodist church.
Mr. Young had been a master barber in Newton since 1941.
The son of Albert and Lydia Mahler Young, he was born Aug. 21, 1906 at Atkinson, Neb.
He was married to Bertha Belle Burroughs May 1, 1930.
