Fred Zimmerman Dies Sunday; Rites Today
Searsboro-Sully – Funeral services for Fred L. Zimmerman, 68, of Searsboro, a former Sully resident, were held today at the Harden Funeral Home in New Sharon.
The Rev. Walter Grimes of New Sharon and the Rev. Irene Weitert of Searsboro conducted services. Burial was in the Woodland Cemetery at Lynnville.
He died Sunday at the Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
Memorial contributions to the Heart Fund will be accepted.
Survivors are a son, Robert of Galesburg; a daughter, Mrs. Rex (Joan) James of Searsboro, five grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. William Roth of Searsboro.
Mr. Zimmerman was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Newton, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and the Masonic Lodge.
The son of L. H. and Nellie Lucas Zimmerman, he was born Sept. 8, 1907 at Sully.
He was married to Ruby Marie Renaud Aug. 31, 1932 in Bethany, Mo.
