Elmer "LeRoy" Kinart, age 85 of Monroe, passed away on Wednesday, April 06, 2022 at Knoxville Area Hospital and Clinics. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Riverside Church in Knoxville. Visitation will take place on Sunday, April, 10, 2022 at Coburn Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Monroe Fire and Rescue or the Riverside Church. The son of Elmer and Selana (Carpenter) Kinart, LeRoy was born on August 05, 1936 in Spokane, Washington. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1955. Then attended Drake Collage for Business. For 20 years he worked at Parson Manufacturing in Newton. He also drove Semi-trucks for 5 years. On September 05, 1987, he was united in marriage to Roberta Light at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. LeRoy was a life time Shriner member. He retired from Armstrong/Titan in Des Moines.

LeRoy was known as a mechanic and loved being a Volkswagen guru, he could work on almost anything. After retirement he especially loved spending time with his family, shooting and collecting guns, traveling the U.S. in his RV, camping around Iowa, volunteering at Animal Rescues and tinkering on friends projects in his garage. LeRoy was a devoted church goer. He will be missed most by his dogs; Molly Sue and Dexter Dean with their daily car rides to "go get the mail."

Those left to honor his memory include his wife; Roberta, a daughter; Rhonda (Timothy) Edwards, three grandchildren; Jeffrey (Hadley Wickham) Edwards, Tristan Boots and Tessa Boots. Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister; Wanda Mockenhaupt, two brothers; Roland Kinart and Bill Noah and two daughters; Lisa Ann Sille and Tamara (Kinart) Boots
