July 17, 1933 - February 25, 2022

Margie June McCuen, age 88 of Colfax, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022 at her home. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City. The family will greet friends following the service at the Prairie City Community Room for a Tea Time beginning at 1:30 pm. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 28, 2022 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. Memorials may be directed to the family and condolences may be left at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com

The daughter of Wilbur and Florence (Scott) Kendall, Margie was born on July 17, 1933 in Gilmore City, Iowa. She graduated from Colfax High School in 1951. In July of 1956, she was united in marriage to Keith McCuen in Prairie City. Margie loved her home and always had an open door for friends and family to come and visit. She enjoyed talking on the phone, cooking, her cat "Wimpy", but most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Kyle (Paula) McCuen of Montezuma, Kevin (Teresa) McCuen of Hartford, LuAnne (Don) Steenhoek of Reasnor, and Leona (Jeff) Lewis of Baxter; 11 grandchildren, Kurt (Andrea) Steenhoek, Joel (Alicia) Steenhoek, Kristina (Jody) Firestone, Serena McCuen, Anita (Zac) Van Sickle, Doug McCuen, Kelly Jo Rodriguez, Kyla Grunig, Benjamin (Holly Stevenson) Lewis, Jenna Lewis, and Cade Lewis and several great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters-in-law, Karen Kendall, Mary Johnson, Betty McCuen, and Betty Karchner. Margie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Shelby Walters and Betty Kendall and four brothers, Beryl, Lowell, Don, and Jim.
