Hugh G. Inman Dies Thursday; Services Pending
Mingo – Hugh G. Inman, 58, a resident of Mingo since 1958, died Thursday evening at the William Sigmund home in Polk county after suffering a heart attack.
Funeral arrangements for Mr. Inman, who operated a service station at the junction of Iowa-64 and US-65, have not been completed.
Boyd-Nickell funeral home in Baxter is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Inman is survived by his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Fred (Betty Jean) Davidson of Missouri Valley, Iowa; Mrs. Orville (Alyce) Green of Springfield, Mo., Mrs. Tim (Martha) Dunkin of Grand Prairie, Tex.; and Patricia Darlene at home; a son, Eugene Jr. at home; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Martin Inman and Hobart Inman, both of Morristown, Tenn.; and Robert Inman of Fairfax, Mo.; and four sisters, Mrs. Tom (Ada) Mayes of Morristown, Tenn., Mrs. Kate Thacker and Mrs. John (Bertha) Morrell of Knoxville, Tenn., and Mrs. Samuel (Rachel) Breeden of Morristown, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a granddaughter.
The son of William and Margaret Inman, he was born November 29, 1903 in Morristown, Tenn.
Educated in rural schools in Morristown, he was married to Georgia Davis June 4, 1927, at Tarkio, Mo.
Mr. Inman went to Tarkio at the age of 17 and played professional baseball for several years.
He later worked for the State of Missouri as a road grader before purchasing a farm near Seymour, Iowa, in 1949.
He moved to a farm north of Centerville in 1953, remaining there until 1958 when he moved to Mingo.
