Mrs. Cadwallader Dies Saturday; Services Tuesday
Prairie City (Special) – Mrs. Wyatt (Maude) Cadwallader, 78, longtime resident of the Prairie City community, died Saturday afternoon at the Hanna Nursing Home in Colfax.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of the Brethren south of Prairie City.
The Rev. Edward Zook, pastor of the church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Griffits cemetery south of Prairie City.
Walters Funeral Home in Prairie City is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Cadwallader is survived by her husband, two sisters, Mrs. Carolyn Wheeler of Des Moines and Mrs. Millie Kows of Calendar; and a brother, Henry Emerson of Des Moines.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Emerson, she was born July 7, 1880 near Otley.
She was married to Wyatt Cadwallader Feb. 20, 1900. They farmed south of Prairie City in the Percy community until 1940 when they moved to Prairie City.
