Lucille B. Jenkins Dies at Hospital; Services Saturday
Mrs. Lorenzo (Lucille Bell) Jenkins, 66, of 1601 Monroe Drive, a resident of Newton much of her life, died Thursday evening at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Toland Funeral Home.
Dr. Edwin Frohardt, minister of the First Methodist Church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
Mrs. Jenkins will lie in state at the Toland Funeral Home where friends may call after 6 p.m. today.
Survivors are her husband, Lorenzo B.; a son, Karl Enlow of Kellogg; a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Kretchmar of Huntington Beach, Calif.; five grandchildren and her father, William Logsdon, of Newton.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Mrs. Jenkins was a member of the Methodist Church, the Rebekah Lodge, the Pocahontas Lodge, the Merry Mixers Club and was a Gray Lady for 14 years.
The daughter of William and Mabel Lewis Logsdon, she was born Sept. 5, 1900 at Newton.
She was married to Lorenzo B. Jenkins in 1942 in Missouri.
With the exception of 25 to 30 years spent in West Des Moines and California, Mrs. Jenkins resided in Newton all of her life.
