Mrs. D. Gearhart, Ira Resident, Dies Friday
Mrs. Della Gearhart, 84 year old Jasper county pioneer and resident of Ira died at Skiff Memorial hospital at 4:50 p.m. Friday. She had been a patient at the hospital since April 16.
The daughter of John Louis and Sarah Cross Castor, she was born on a farm near Ira, where she grew to womanhood. She was married to Leslie Gearhart who passed away in 1943. After the death of her husband, Mrs. Gearhart moved to Ira where she took an active part in the church activities.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
The body will lie in state at the Boyd Funeral home in Baxter until the funeral services, which will be held from Ira Christian church at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. Henry Esch will officiate. Burial will be in Union Chapel cemetery.
