Hazel Miller, 84, of Prairie City died of Parkinson’s disease Thursday at Clearview Manor in Prairie City. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Howard Street Christian Church in Colfax, of which she was a member. Burial will be at Vandalia Cemetery in Prairie City.
Mrs. Miller was born in Marion County and had lived in Colfax most of her life before moving to Prairie City. She had worked for Home Plastics and farmed with her husband before retiring.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry of Colfax and Freddie of Council Bluffs; three daughters, Lois Young of Colfax, Connie Bos of Prairie City and Phyllis James of Stigler, Okla.; two brothers, Bert Smith of Prairie City and Robert Smith of Des Moines, 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren;. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin.
Friends may call after noon Sunday at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to her church or Clearview Manor Activity Fund.
