‘Sie’ Miller Dies Friday; Rites Sunday
Prairie City – Funeral services for Josiah C. “Sie” Miller, 93, a longtime resident of Prairie City, were held Sunday at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.
Evangelist Thomas Dennis of Des Moines conducted services. Burial was in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Survivors are five sons, Gayle C. of Anaheim, Calif., George W. of Prairie City, Wendell of Prairie City, Chase of Joice and Carrol Wayne of Newton; a daughter, Mrs. Cecil (Noma) Brunner of Prairie City; 20 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his wife, parents and two sons.
He was a member of the Camp Center Church of Christ near Vandalia.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Miller, he was born Nov. 8, 1881 in Polk County.
He was married to Lydia Louisa Rosenthal Oct. 2, 1906 in Herman, Minn.
He died Friday at his daughter’s home in Prairie City.
