Roy H. Gross Rites Saturday
Services for Roy H. Gross, 76, of 3904 Third St., who died of cancer Wednesday at Mercy Hospital after a three-month illness, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Arnold’s Highland Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Vandalia Cemetery.
Mr. Gross had been a clerk at the downtown Post Office 42 years, retiring in 1958. He was born at Findlay, Ohio, and moved here from Fredericktown, Mo., 56 years ago.
He had attended Drake University and was a member of Highland Park Christian Church and the national Association of Retired Civil Employes.
Surviving are his widow, Clarice; two sons, Carl of Albuquerque, N.M., and Doran of Des Moines; a brother, Charles of Long Beach, Cal.; three sisters, Mrs. Helen Weatherby of Huntington Park, Cal., Mrs. Nina Dierck of Sacramento, Cal., and Mrs. Iloe Stucky of Fredericktown, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
