Hazelle English Dies Tuesday
Prairie City-Vandalia – Mrs. Frank T. (Sarah Hazelle) English, 80, of Prairie City, a longtime resident of the Vandalia and Prairie City communities, died Tuesday at the Pleasant Care Nursing Home in Pleasantville.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Church of the Brethren, south of Prairie City.
The Rev. William Miller, pastor of the church, and the Rev. Dwight Hunnell of Des Moines, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home at Prairie City after 4 p.m. Thursday.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Vesta Buckingham of Denver, Colo.; and two grandsons, David Paul Buckingham of Denver, Colo., and Duane Buckingham of Salt Lake City, Utah.
Mrs. English was a member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship of the Morgan Valley Church.
The daughter of John and Mary Gulling Holy, she was born April 29, 1895 in Vandalia.
She was married Feb. 15, 1917 at Vandalia.
