Timothy De Bruin services Thursday in Prairie City
Prairie City – Funeral services for Timothy Alan De Bruin, 14, of rural Prairie City will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Christian Reformed Church in Prairie City.
The Rev. Daniel Ramaker, pastor of the First Reformed Church in Prairie City, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to the Tim De Bruin Athletic Memorial Fund will be accepted.
He died a Tuesday morning at the Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines of injuries suffered in a weekend gun accident.
Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald De Bruin of Prairie City; two brothers, Mark and Steve, both of Prairie City; two sisters, Mrs. Dana (Linda) Thomas of Des Moines and Mrs. Dale (Beth) Seehusen of Pomeroy; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Cornie De Bruin and Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Schagen, all of Pella.
The youth, a freshman at Prairie City Community High School, had been active in football, track and basketball.
He was a member of the First Reformed Church in Prairie City.
The son of Ronald and JoAnn Schagen De Bruin, he was born Dec. 1, 1966 in Pella.
