A Sudden Death – On Friday afternoon Mr. Benj. Clark from near Bennington, came to Prairie City to mill, and do some trading. He was taken sick at Draper & Potter’s store with congestion of the liver, and lay there until Saturday morning, when his friends removed him to the Prairie City House, where, in a short time he died. Dr. Miller was in attendance and did all he could to relieve his sufferings, but in vain. He was taken to Vandalia for burial.
