Hattie Jenkins, three months, of Oskaloosa, went home to the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday, October 27, 2021.
Hattie Jo Jenkins was welcomed into the world on August 3, 2021, at Pella Regional Hospital by her parents, Jacob Robert and Haley Grace (Gonnerman) Jenkins, and her sister, Clara. Recently, Hattie was beginning to find her voice and loved interacting with her family. She melted hearts with her coos and other sweet sounds. Her beautiful, full-faced “gummy” smile lit up the room. She had the most kissable lips, complete with the cutest dimples on her cheeks and chin. Hattie loved being outside, looking at pictures, watching her older sister Clara play, and splashing in the bath.
Left to cherish her memory are her parents and her sister, Clara; her maternal grandparents: Mary Gonnerman (Craig Ostbloom) of Fort Dodge and Tim Gonnerman of Pocahontas; paternal grandmother: Jo Jenkins of Newton; uncles: Jason Jenkins and his daughter, Josie of Monroe, and James Jenkins of Newton; an aunt, Hannah (Bobby) Geelan and their sons, Henry and Oliver of Indianola; maternal great-grandmothers: Grace Tiernan and Pat Gonnerman, both of Pocahontas; and paternal grandmother, Pat Jenkins of Lake Ozark, MO.
Hattie was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, John David Jenkins; paternal great-grandparents: John E. Jenkins and Marijoe Cameron and Oscar and Mary Jo Croonquist; and maternal great-grandfathers: Loren Tiernan and Howard Gonnerman.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held for Hattie at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton, Iowa, with Rev. Tony Herald officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Newton. Memorial contributions can be made to the family for Clara’s Educational Fund. Langkamp Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with Hattie’s final arrangements.
