Fort Collins, Colo. – Rachel R. Perkins, 84, of Fort Collins, Colo., a former resident of Colfax and Newton, died Sunday, March 12, at the home of her son.
Cremation followed death. Burial will be in Iowa.
Survivors are a daughter, Lois (Mrs. Bradley) Roch of Fort Collines; a son, Larry R. Kling of Fort Collins; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Alice Vander Leest of Newton and Maxine McClellan of Prairie City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Delbert, and two husbands, Lawrence Kling and O. R. Busby.
The daughter of J. Henry and Anna Laura “Kate” Hawkins, she was born Jan. 23, 1911 in Colfax.
Mrs. Perkins, a homemaker and housekeeper for a number of families in Iowa, lived in the Newton and Colfax area until 1971 when she moved to Estherville.
