Germaine Louise "Granmere" Gross was born in Liege, Belgium on September 13, 1925 to the late Theodore and Jeanne Martin Lahaye. She met Doran E. Gross in Belgium during World War II and they were married on February 11, 1946 in New York City, New York. They made a home in Des Moines, Iowa where Doran was born and raised. Germaine's last employment was at DeeZee Manufacturing where she retired in 1990.
Germaine and Doran enjoyed travel and returned several time to Europe to visit her family and she was very fond of cats. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doran in 2006 and her son Rick is 2010. She is survived by her daughter, Sara(Mike) Frahm of Prole, Iowa and her granddaughter, Denise(Miguel) Vazquez and great grandchildren Mariana and Sage.
