Services were held Saturday, August 15, at Richardson Funeral Home in Carlisle for Carl F. Mott, 76, of 3508 Bel Aire Road, Des Moines, who died of cancer Wednesday, August 12, at Karen Acres Nursing Home, 3605 Elm Drive. Burial was in Vandalia Cemetery southwest of Prairie City.
A native of Vandalia, he moved to Des Moines from the Grimes area in 1975. He was a retired farmer and horse raiser and a member of the U.S. Trotting Association.
Survivors include three daughters, Helen Keeling and Jane Parker, both of Des Moines, and Barb Cairns of Ankeny; a son, John of Santa Clara, Calif.; three brothers, Jack of Des Moines, Ben of Knoxville and Russell of Mesa, Ariz.; a sister, Margaret Nicum of Des Moines; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
