The Obituary of Mrs. Foster Farrar of Vandalia
Lavonne Doris Kaltenhueser was born Dec. 4, 1918, to George and Viola Kaltenhueser, and passed away Jan. 2, 1947, at the State University hospital, Iowa City, at the age of 28 years, 4 weeks and one day.
Lavonne made her home with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Kaltenhueser, near Maxwell, Iowa, from the age of three days till fourteen years of age, when she went to live with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Amos Webb.
She was a graduate of the Maxwell high school and was united with the Christian church there in her early youth.
On May 30, 1938, she was united in marriage to Foster Wayne Farrar, and moved to Vandalia, where they were living at the time of her death.
She leaves to mourn her death her husband Foster, one son, Robert Wayne, age four, two little girls, Violet Larene, age two, and Shirley Ann, age four weeks, her father and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Marlene Louise, and her mother, who died when she was three days old.
Lavonne was a devoted wife and mother, a good neighbor, kind and considerate of all those around her and will be greatly missed by all.
