Mrs. Lotie Noon Departs at Age of Fifty-seven
Our blessed Lord Jesus walk among the roses and lilies in the garden of this world. He must pick the withered flowers frequently a bud, and many times the full-blown blossom.
Lotie Underwood, the oldest daughter of Sennet and Lucinda Underwood, was born in Illinois May 11, 1879, and departed this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Glen Lovell of near Runnells, Aug. 7, 1936, at the age of fifty-seven years, two months and twenty-six days.
When but a child she, with her parents, came to Iowa, settling on a farm near Monroe where they spent a number of years, removing to a farm near Vandalia where she was united in marriage to Clyde Noon in March, 1902. To this union six daughters were born, two having died in infancy and one daughter, Myrtle, who preceded her on July 4, 1924.
In the year 1934 the deceased accepted Jesus as her personal Savior, uniting with the Open Bible church of Vandalia of which she was a faithful member until her departure.
Mrs. Noon has been in failing health for the past several months, suffering from goiter complications. During her suffering she was patient, hopeful, never complaining even though her physical condition expressed pain – this she cheerfully bore, trusting in Him who gave strength to endure the physical ailments of this life.
She was a kind and loving mother, a faithful and true friend, and loved by all who knew her, and her death will leave a vacant place in the hearts of hosts of friends, as well as her loved ones.
Besides her aged father and three daughters, Mrs. Henry Lovell and Miss Northa, both of Runnells, she leaves to mourn her loss one sister, Mrs. Chas. Anderson of Prairie City, one grandson and a number of other relatives and friends.
