Jimmie De Moss Dies at Hospital; Rites Saturday

Jimmie E. De Moss, 65, 521 S. 4th Ave. W, longtime resident of Reasnor before moving to Newton 7 years ago, died Wednesday evening at Skiff Memorial Hospital.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Toland Wallace Funeral Home.

John Brodene, minister of the Church of Jehovah’s Witnnesses, will officiate and burial will be in Pleasantville Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.

Surviving are a son, Jimmie of Faribault, Minn.; two step-sons, Albert and Robert Trotter, both of Newton; a step-daughter, Mrs. Ruth Marshall of Pleasantville, and a granddaughter, Deana De Moss of Faribault.

Also surviving are five brothers, William of Prairie City, Marion of Columbia, Lee and Tommy, both of Knoxville, and George of Des Moines, and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Heavlin of Newton and Mrs. Wallace (Cynthia) Roff and Mrs. Gerald (Grace) Martinache, both of Knowville

He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

The son of Tom and Emma Baker De Moss, he was born March 13, 1903 , at Draper.

He was married to the former Lucy Trotter.

Mr. De Moss had made his home with his sister, Mrs. Heavlin, since moving to Newton.
