Services for James P. Wallace, 5, of Ames, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home in Des Moines. Burial will be at Vandalia Cemetery in Vandalia.
Mr. Wallace’s body was recovered Friday from the Des Moines River in northeast Missouri. Authorities believe he drowned May 16 in Ottumwa after jumping off a bridge.
A native of Des Moines, Mr. Wallace lived here until moving to Ames last year. He was a construction worker and an Air Force Veteran who served in Vietnam.
Survivors include two daughters, Alicia and Terry Jo; his parents, Ralph and Donna Wallace; three brothers, Bob, Mike and Randy; and a sister, Deborah Wallace; and his paternal grandmother, Ellen Wallace. All are of Des Moines.
Friends may call after noon Monday at the funeral home.
