Edna M. Owens Services Today; Dies Tuesday
Colfax – Funeral services for Mrs. Leonard (Edna Minerva) Owens, 90, a longtime resident of the Colfax community, were held today at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.
The Rev. Jim Pemble, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Colfax, conducted services. Burial was in the McKeever Cemetery.
She died Tuesday evening at the Nelson Manor in Newton.
Survivors are her husband; two sons, Leonard Thomas of Colfax and Ray Russell of Alhambra, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Hannah) Duffy of Newton, Mrs. Robert (Winifred) Warrick of Valeria and Mrs. Edward (Shirley) Winton of Newton; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, George Woodyard of Colfax; and a sister, Elizabeth Mahler of North Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, six sisters, a son, Ralph, three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
The daughter of Samuel and Winifred Goodman Woodyard, she was born Oct. 31, 1892 in Oswalt.
She was married Aug. 30, 1910 in Newton.
