Mrs. Hugh Vernocum (Sarah Lee) age 64, died at Colfax last Monday. Funeral service was held there last Thursday with burial in McKeever cemetery. She was born in Pennsylvania and came to Iowa where she was married to Hugh Vernocum in 1888.
She is survived by her husband, four daughters, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, two sisters, Mrs. Rosa James, and Mrs. Lucile Whitman of Long Beach, California, two brothers John Lee of Upland, California and James Lee at Tacoma, Washington. She lived 21 years at Valeria and 20 years at Colfax.
