Mrs. O. A. Wheeler Passed Away Monday
Was One Of The Pioneers of The Ira And Goddard Community
Mrs. O. A. Wheeler passed away early Monday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Tom Leonard, near Goddard, at 75 years of age.
Fifty years ago March 25, she was united in marriage to O. A. Wheeler, the couple living in Sherman township, Jasper county, until 10 years ago. They then moved to Wadena, Minn., to be near their son, Roy B. Wheeler, and daughter, Mrs. Mary Leonard. Since the death of her husband five years ago, Mrs. Wheeler had made her home with her daughter, who moved back to Goddard after the death of Mr. Wheeler.
Besides her two children, he is survived by four brothers, Frank Couch of Indianola, Warren Couch of Ames, Will Couch of Wisconsin and Andrew Couch of South Dakota, and seven grandchildren, Dorothy, Ralph and Grace Wheeler of Wadena, Minn., James Orville and Margaret Leonard of Goddard and Mrs. Amanda Iske of Ira.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon from the Leonard home with Dr. Theodore Morning officiating. Burial was had at the McKeever cemetery.
